Murder Most Austen (An Elizabeth Parker Mystery, #4)Murder Most Austen by Tracy Kiely
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Elizabeth and aunt Winnie head out to Bath to attend a Jane Austen conference. A controversial Professor gets killed, and Winnie's friend, a vocal opponent, it the main suspect, so they offer to help. There are a few suspects, between an ex-wife, daughter in law from hell, student lover and other Austen fans. This is the fourth in the series, and I recall reading the first one a long time ago. I'll have to pick up the others.

Mayhem at the Orient Express (League of Literary Ladies, #1)Mayhem at the Orient Express by Kylie Logan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First in a new-to-me series, this was very slow at the beginning, but got interesting quickly. Bea moves to an island on Lake Eire to open a B&B. Her previous life is a mystery, but it's explained as the book goes along. It's April, and a freak snowstorm strands her one guest and some islanders (who lost power in their homes) inside her home. Among them are her judge-mandated book club members, who are in the process of reading Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express.

"Here Today, Gone Tamale (A Taste of Texas Mystery #1) by Rebecca Adler

Good thing I don't like tamales or I would have been drooling throughout the book. Josie moves back to Broken Boot from Austin, and is helping her aunt and uncle at their Mexican restaurant. When preparing a huge batch of tamales for a festival, one of the volunteers is killed. There's plenty of quirky characters, small town lifestyle, and talk of food. The characters were not fully developed, but it's the first of the series, so maybe they'll grow little by little. The murdered was on my suspect list, but not at the top. I will see if I can get the next one in the series, and then decide if I'll follow it.
